New to the IHT-team

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Mr Jakob Finkbeiner and wish him all the best for a successful start! As CTO, Mr Finkbeiner will be responsible for the scientific and technical aspects of developing the readout and electronic architecture of the GeQD detector systems as part of the EXIST research transfer project, which is funded by the BMWE.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Ms Claudia Bett and wish her all the best for a successful start! As part of the BMWE-funded EXIST research transfer project, Ms Bett is responsible for the scientific, technical and organisational aspects of integrating the Ge-SPAD detectors into a fully functional, robust overall system.

New to IHT-Team

We warmly welcome Dr. Maximilian Scheu and wish him all the best as he gets started! Dr. Scheu will be responsible for the scientifically grounded business analysis, modelling, and planning of the business model for the spin-off being developed through the EXIST Research Transfer program.

Welcome Marco Cusmano to our team and wish him a good start! Mr Cusmano's research focus will be on Germanium-tin-based infrared photodetectors.

Daejin University Undergraduate Research Team Visit

On 21 January 2026, an undergraduate research team from Daejin University visited the IHT. An interview by Prof. Daus and a laboratory tour by our scientist Harishnarayan Ramachandra were conducted.

Academic Visit

On November 13, 2025, Professor Sporea and Dr. Bestelink from the University of Surrey visited IHT. Thank you again for the visit and the inspiring seminar!

IHT Autumn Excursion 2025

On 2 October 2025, the IHT went on a half-day trip to Bärensee. Great opportunity for fresh air, sport and team-building!

ETI Cup 2025

On 23 July 2025, the joint team from IHT and INT won second place in the ETI Cup 2025. Well done!

From March 9 to 12, 2025, Prof. Alwin Daus took part in EDTM 2025 and gave a talk on the topic “Impact of Dielectrics on Hysteresis and Bias Stress Stability in Oxide Semiconductor and 2D-Material Field-Effect Transistors”.

is engaged in teaching and research based on the group IV-based semiconductor technology with the transition from today's micro- or nanoelectronics to future quantum electronics.

For this purpose, excellent research opportunities are available at the location on the University Campus Vaihingen, with which we as the team and our partners are actively researching the technology of tomorrow.
